EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of EN 538 standard. This European standard defines the test method used to evaluate the flexural strength of clay roof tiles as defined in the Clay roof tiles product descriptions and specifications standard.
It provides verification of the product's ability to withstand a centered load when subjected to bending on two simple carriers.
The evaluation of flexural strength is made on ten samples, each consisting of a whole tile dried in ambient air. If tiles have been exposed to moisture, they must be dried in a laboratory environment before testing (temperature +10°C and +40°C, relative humidity less than 90%).
To keep the tile in a fixed position, use wooden washers the same width as the top washer to support the tile on the lower carriers and a washer adapted to fit the shape of the tile for the top carrier.
