EN ISO 1117 Standard Test for Bonded Abrasive Products, Grinding Wheel Dimensions

This International standard specifies the dimensions of different types of grinding wheels. Outside diameters, thicknesses and hole diameters conform to IS0 525, with the exceptions indicated by a reference mark.

Dimensions are expressed in both millimeters and inches. The holes are the same, so wheels in the metric series and wheels in the inch series can be mounted on the same machines; however, the rims of both series can only be considered equivalent, since the overall dimensions are probably slightly different.

Symbols for the dimensions used conform to IS0 525. Until international agreement on a single reference system is reached, they can be replaced in national standards with those that comply with the rules applicable in the relevant country.

The figures accompanying the tables are only rough drawings that allow reference to useful dimensions; In particular, for cup grinding wheels and recessed flat grinders, the internal angles should be replaced with a corner to prevent any tearing from starting, but to nevertheless allow the parts to be applied correctly on the shaft.

Some nuts on the wheels may be omitted, but it is recommended that those used correspond to one point of the holes provided.
