This standard describes a method for determining the short-term indentation resistance of flexible semi-flexible/vinyl composite tile (VCT) flooring after constant load application.
Test pieces are subjected to static loading at room temperature, thicknesses are measured before and during loading at specified dwell times.
Unless otherwise specified in the product specification, condition test pieces at (1 ± 23)°C and (2 ± 50) % relative humidity for at least 5 hour. Maintain these conditions while performing the test. Test pieces can also be conditioned with a water bath for at least 1 hour.
Calculate the average value for both one-minute and ten-minute indentations and express the result to the nearest 0,01 mm. A round robin test should be performed to determine the precision of this test method.
