The purpose of the test is to determine the level of contamination of the abrasive with foreign matter. The level of impurities such as oxides and residual metallurgical slag is determined by magnetic separation.
This is one of a series of sections of ISO 11125 dealing with sampling and testing metallic abrasives for blast cleaning. The types of metallic abrasives and the requirements for each are contained in the various sections of ISO 11124.
