EN 14617-2 Agglomerated Stone, Part 2: Standard Test for Determination of Flexural Strength

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of EN 14617-2 standard. This European standard specifies a method for determining the flexural strength of agglomerated stone flat products under a concentrated load (fracture strength).

EN 14617-2 Agglomerated Stone, Part 2: Standard Test for Determination of Flexural Strength

The principle of this method is to place the sample on two rollers and gradually load the sample in the middle. The breaking load is measured and the bending strength is calculated.

As a standard reference, the surface finish of the faces of the samples will be cut, honed or polished. This can be done where it is necessary to test samples on other surfaces required for application (eg flamed, sandblasted etc.).

When the back face is not perfectly planar, the intended surface must be in contact with the two support rollers. In all other cases, the intended surface must be in contact with the top roller. In any case, the surface quality will be specified in the report.
