ISO 2846-2 Graphic Technology, Part 2: Standard Test for Coldset Offset Lithographic Printing

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of ISO 2846-2 standard. ISO 2846-2 specifies the color and transparency that will be produced by inks for four-color coldset web offset printing when printed under specified conditions on a printability tester. It also describes the testing method to ensure compliance.

ISO 2846-2 Graphic Technology, Part 2: Standard Test for Coldset Offset Lithographic Printing

ISO 2846-2 does not apply to fluorescent inks and does not specify pigments (or spectral reflectance) so as not to hinder the use of suitable combinations of pigments in the future and still not claim compliance with colorimetric requirements.

This part of ISO 2846 allows printers to obtain process ink sets from a variety of sources that will produce a similar color when printed on reference substrate with the appropriate film thickness. This will allow color separations to be based on known color standards for cold set web offset printing.

The colorimetric properties specified in this part of ISO 2846 can only be achieved when the inks are printed on the reference substrate. However, similarity of two inks on a reference substrate will ensure similarity on another substrate.
