This International Standard specifies the characteristics of a type of glass called “borosilicate glass” used in the construction of laboratory glassware, glass factory, pipeline and fittings.

The heat resistance properties are defined by the nominal values given for the physical properties. Chemical resistance properties are specified within specified limits using standard test methods referred to in this International Standard.
Given the nominal specifications, they refer to the temperature range of 20°C to 300°C unless otherwise stated. However, this does not mean that products made from this glass can be used freely within this range or not used outside of this range.
