ISO 4892-4 Plastics, Methods of Exposure to Laboratory Light Sources, Part 4: Standard Test for Open Flame Carbon Arc Lamps

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of ISO 4892-4 standard. ISO 4892-4 specifies methods for exposing samples to open-flame carbon arc lamps in the presence of moisture to reproduce the weathering effects that occur when materials are exposed to sunlight in real end-use environments or to sunlight filtered through window glass.

ISO 4892-4 Plastics, Methods of Exposure to Laboratory Light Sources, Part 4: Standard Test for Open Flame Carbon Arc Lamps

Samples of the samples to be tested are exposed to a carbon arc light source under controlled environmental conditions. The procedure may include measurements of radiation and radiant exposure at the surface of the sample.

Comparisons of results from samples exposed to different apparatus should not be made unless reproducibility between instruments is ensured for the material to be tested.

The relative humidity of the air passing over the test specimens shall, if necessary, be controlled at an agreed value and measured with suitable instruments placed in the test chamber and protected from lamp radiation.
