EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of ISO 5978 standard. This international standard specifies a method for determining the resistance to clogging of rubber or plastic coated fabrics.
The specified method is acceptable in most cases. If it is desired to use conditions other than those specified, these can be mutually agreed between the contracting parties, but such changes will be noted in the test report.
High temperature blocking tests are designed to estimate the relative resistance of rubber or plastic coated fabrics to blocking. For this purpose, the coated fabric is subjected to a certain load over a certain area at a certain temperature.
For all purposes, the minimum time between fabrication and testing will be 16 hours. For non-product tests, the maximum time between manufacture and testing should be four weeks, and for evaluations intended to be comparable, tests should be performed after the same time interval whenever possible.
Test samples should be representative of the material being tested. It shall be taken at least 0,10 m from the edges of the coated sample and well away from the tip. One edge shall be cut parallel to the longitudinal axis of the specimen.
For product testing, where possible, the time between production and testing should not exceed three months. In other cases the tests shall be carried out within two months from the date of receipt by the customer.
For non-product testing, the maximum time between production and testing should be four weeks, and for assessments intended to be comparable, testing should be performed after the same time interval whenever possible.
