ISO 8124-8 Safety of Toys - Part 8: Standard Test Method for Age Determination Guidelines

For example, such standards will restrict the presence of small parts and small balls in toys for certain age groups due to the danger of suffocation.

These ageing guidelines are based on expert advice and children's traditional play patterns; may differ from national or regional regulations or directives that classify a toy or category of toys as designed for a different age.
