BS 903-A15 Physical Testing of Rubber: Standard Test for a Method for Determining Creep in Compression or Shear

EUROLAB, with its state-of-the-art accredited laboratories and expert team, provides precise and fast testing services within the scope of BS 903-A15 testing. It covers the method of determining creep in compression or shear for rubber that is constantly subjected to compression or shear forces. Not suitable for intermittent deformation of rubber.

BS 903-A15 Physical Testing of Rubber: Standard Test for a Method for Determining Creep in Compression or Shear

When rubber is held under compression, physical or chemical changes occur that prevent the rubber from returning to its original dimensions after the deforming force is released. Results vary depending on the compression time and temperature and recovery conditions. At high temperatures, chemical changes become more and more significant and acquire a permanent state.

A test piece of known thickness is compressed to a defined strain at standard temperature, which is then held constant for a specified period of time at a fixed standard or elevated temperature. After the strain is released and the test piece is allowed to recover at standard temperature for a certain period of time, the thickness of the test piece is measured again.
