This European standard specifies a test method for a given GRC formulation (components and their proportions in the formulation) to determine the influence of environmental factors such as water and temperature on the change of mechanical properties. For other exposure conditions, for example where freezing, thawing and salt dissolving action occurs, the test will be adapted.
This European standard prescribes a cyclic wetting and drying test for glass fiber reinforced concrete. This test includes the main aging parameters that glass fiber reinforced concrete will be exposed to under natural exposure conditions: humidity, drying, temperature.
However, it should be noted that after 50 cycles (humidity/drying/temperature) some properties change for normal GRC formulations. Results correspond to natural weathering for 10 to 20 years.
