EN 12046-2 Working Forces, Test Method, Part 2: Standard Test for Doors

This standard specifies the test method for determining the forces, as well as the forces, required when attaching or releasing the moving parts of a door set or to bring the moving part of a sliding door to a specific position defined by the personal safety devices built into the equipment.

For door sets with self-closing devices, the measurement of forces is excluded from this test method. It also does not apply to door sets with special equipment, e.g. emergency exit devices.

The principle consists in measuring the minimum force or torque required to activate or deactivate the equipment, ensuring that the door leaf, leaf or leaf opens and closes completely until it is in the latched position or any safety device is activated.
