EN 12183 Manual Wheelchairs, Requirements and Test Methods

It also specifies requirements and test methods for manual wheelchairs with electrically powered assistive equipment.

This European standard does not apply to:

• Wheelchairs for special purposes such as sports, showers or toilets;
• Manual wheelchairs with power-assisted drive activated by handwheel;
• custom-made wheelchairs;
• Upright wheelchairs;
• Manual wheelchairs with additional power kits used for propulsion.
