EN 12207 Windows and Doors - Air Permeability - Standard Test for Classification

This European standard defines the classification of test results for fully assembled windows and exterior and interior pedestrian door sets of any material after testing according to EN 1026.

The classification is based on a comparison of the air permeability of the test sample for the general area and the air permeability for the length of the opened joints.

A window or a pedestrian door assembly shall not be classified unless it, when tested with positive or negative pressure, does not reach at least class 1 or class A on the basis of both the total area and the length of the opening joint. No separate classification will be made for positive or negative pressure. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate each test separately.

The general classification is the numerical average of two air permeability values ​​(m1026/h) at each pressure step tested according to EN 3. The results regarding the total area and open joint length will be summarized as stated above. However, a general classification of class 1 or class A will be possible only if all test results have achieved a classification of class 1 or class A or better.
