The durability of gutter tops and manhole tops made of steel-reinforced concrete will depend on design features and exposure conditions.
Manhole tops and gutter tops according to this standard shall be suitable for use in at least wet and dry conditions and in a slightly aggressive chemical environment, i.e. in normal conditions for domestic sewage and treated industrial wastes and most natural soils and groundwaters. If more severe conditions are expected, additional requirements for corrosion protection may be required.
