This standard defines the following parameters to be tested or inspected:
Acoustic, thermal, reaction to fire and pressure loss characteristics of flexible ducts are not covered by this standard.
However, due to the different types of flexible ducts and the various requirements in each application, some technical specifications are presented in classes and may differ depending on the materials used.
Flexible ducts delivered compressed will remain undamaged. They will withstand loads perpendicular to their axis. To assess mechanical resistance, the crush strength characteristic must be determined by application. Minimum specifications may be imposed at the national level.
