This European Standard is not applicable to spiral ropes containing fully interlocked wires or to coated or filled ropes.

This European Standard applies to forged terminations with a terminal efficiency factor KT of at least 0,9 and used as part of a wire rope accessory such as a sling or wire rope assembly for lifting, lowering, pulling.

This European Standard is applicable to the following types of terminals made of carbon or stainless steel:

  • Open pass-through socket;
  • Closed pass-through slot;
  • Threaded plug terminal;
  • Transit terminal last stop.

This European Standard covers all significant hazards, hazardous situations and events associated with forged terminations when used as intended and under reasonably foreseeable conditions of misuse.
