EN 13433 Standard Method for Drinking Water Backflow Prevention Devices, Mechanical Separator, Direct Drive, Family G, Type A

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of EN 13433 standard. This European standard specifies the size, physico-chemical, design, hydraulic, mechanical and acoustic characteristics of the direct actuated G Family, type A mechanical separator.

This European standard is applicable to a direct actuated mechanical separator of nominal sizes, including DN 8 to DN 250, where water that has lost its original sanitary and potable properties (referred to as "dirty water" in this European Standard) is used for drinking water, when the pressure of this system temporarily drops. It is intended to prevent water from returning to the distribution system.

This European standard covers mechanical disconnector directly operated from PN 10, it can operate without modification or adjustment:

• at any pressure up to 1 MPa (10 bar);
• with any pressure change up to 1 MPa (10 bar);
• In continuous duty at the limit temperature of 1 °C and 65 °C for a maximum of 90 hour.

It also specifies test methods and requirements for verification of these properties, marking, and presentation at delivery.
