The coating will be mounted and fixed in such a way as to represent the way it is applied in practice. The edges of the coating or test specimen should not be supported more securely than in practice.
If the coating consists of parts, they must have the same dimensions as the manufactured product and at least three parts must meet at least at one point in the test specimen. The joints should represent those used in practice.
The temperature rises in the test sample are recorded. The coating is inspected and noted when it is damaged. After testing, damage to both the coating and the substrate is noted.
