EN 14351-2 Windows and Doors, Product Standard, Performance Specifications, Part 2: Standard Test for Internal Pedestrian Door Sets

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of EN 14351-2 standard. This European standard defines material-independent performance characteristics other than fire resistance and smoke control properties that can be applied to interior pedestrian door sets.

Fire resistance and/or smoke control specifications for pedestrian door sets and openable windows are covered by EN 16034.

This European standard applies to door sets intended for internal use for construction work such as:

• Purpose of use a, in escape routes;
• Intended use b for specific uses with specific requirements;
• Intended use c, for communication only.

The above intended uses can be combined, for example as escape routes with special requirements. For interior pedestrian door sets with fire resistant or smoke control features, this standard should only be applied in conjunction with EN 16034.

Products covered by this European standard are electrically operated hinged or manually operated interior pedestrian door sets and recessed or paneled casement screens, single or double leaf which can be completed with:

• Relevant building equipment;
• Door closing devices;
• Integrated fan lights;
• Adjacent pieces contained within a single frame for inclusion in a single opening.

This European standard does not apply to:

• Industrial, commercial and garage doors and gates according to EN 13241;
• External pedestrian door sets according to EN 14351-1;
• Door leaves offered to the market as a single unit;
• Door frames offered to the market as a single unit;
• Electric pedestrian door sets other than swing type according to EN 16361.

This European standard does not address any specific requirements regarding noise emitted from internally powered hinged door sets, as noise emissions are not recognized as a relevant hazard.
