EN 16145 Sanitary Faucet Set - Sink and Sink Faucets - General Technical Specifications

This standard applies to removable outlets made of any material intended to equip and complete sanitary tap fittings for sinks used for kitchen or ablution purposes.

This European Standard specifies:

• Dimensions, sealing, mechanical, hydraulic and acoustic properties that removable outlets with or without spray mode selector function must comply with;
• Procedures for testing these properties.

The design and construction of components without defined dimensions allows the implementation of various design solutions. The test is based on the principle of checking the tightness of the removable outlet by positive internal water pressure.

The tests described are type tests (laboratory tests) and are not quality control tests performed during manufacturing. Each test will be performed with a new sample.

The principle consists in measuring the flow rate through the removable outlet using cold water (T ≤ 30 °C) to determine the flow rate class of the removable outlet. The flow rate of the removable spouts with special connections delivered with the tap set is measured together with the entire sanitary tap set.

If the removable outlet has a swivel connection that allows it to rotate freely relative to the hose, this connection must be able to function correctly and prevent the hose from kinking.
