EN 16647 Fireplaces for Liquid Fuels - Test for Use in Private Homes

This standard applies to decorative fireplaces for domestic use, which produce flames using alcohol, hereinafter referred to as fuel, in liquid or gelatinous fuel for decoration.

The requirements are strictly enforced even if used in other areas. More or different rules regarding the use of devices may apply outside the private home and open space.

This European Standard applies to freestanding, wall-mounted and built-in appliances with a maximum power output of 4,5 kW.

This European Standard applies to ready-to-use appliances whose burner is from a single unit or is an integral part of the appliances, but whose fuel tank is not separate from the appliance.

This European Standard does not apply to appliances specifically designed to heat or rechaud food, nor to appliances for use in boats, caravans, other vehicles or open spaces.

This European Standard does not apply to appliances with a power output higher than 4,5 kW or with a defined heating function.

National regulation may limit the power output to below 4,5 kW.
