EN 438-2 applies to HPL products in various internal and external application areas, e.g. construction, shipping, furniture, flooring, etc. Test methods have been developed specifically to test HPL.
It should be noted that not all test methods apply to all HPL types. For example, Test 11, Abrasion Resistance, applies only to flooring grade laminates; Test 10, Surface Wear Resistance, applies to all HPL types except flooring grade laminates. Therefore, it is important to read the scope of the test method to determine if it is applicable to a particular HPL product.
