BIO ECO Certification

The definitions BIO, ECO and organic are actually synonymous. Products that comply with organic production rules carry the ECO label or this label is used in promotional materials. It is prohibited to present such product as BIO, ECO or organic without a stamp or marking on it. Similarly, some logos and emblems implying BIO or ECO are considered misleading to customers and are prohibited from use.

The terms BIO, ECO and organic refer to a product with at least 95 percent organic content by mass. The remaining 5 percent is left in the case of atmospheric pollution such as acid rain or wind-blown pesticides from the adjacent field and the use of additional non-ECO ingredients.

Organic product must have all ingredients listed on the label.

BOI ECO certification is based, above all, on the following principles:

• The products do not contain non-herbal raw materials that are allergic, irritating or harmful to human health.
• Products are completely free of genetically modified organisms (non-GMO products)
• No animal testing has been done for the materials used in the products
• Use of agricultural and zootechnical products obtained from certified organic agriculture
• No environmentally unsustainable materials in both product and packaging

The BIO ECO label is a label that guarantees that producers do not use pesticides or other chemicals to grow their products or feed their animals. These manufacturers also avoid genetically modified organisms (GMOs) whenever possible.

Essentially, BIO as a label comes from ecological agriculture. This term is legally defined in European Union countries. These products come from ecologically controlled cultivation, are not genetically modified and are grown without the use of conventional pesticides, artificial fertilizers or sewage sludge. Antibiotics and growth hormones are not applied to meat obtained from animals.
