Describes a method for performing quality control of production batches of blue wool reference materials 105 to 1 to be used in the appropriate sections of the EN ISO 7-B series of test methods for color fastness.
The method specifies a procedure for the instrumental assessment of the evenness of the painting and two procedures for assessing the fading properties of reference materials, one using visual assessment techniques and the other instrumental assessment.
The properties of the tested reference materials are then compared with the properties of the main reference materials. The method is applicable to all dyed wool fabrics intended to be used as reference materials 1 to 7.
This method is not suitable for blue wo01 reference 8 because the time required to switch to gray scale 4 and gray scale 3 contrasts would be excessively long.
The method given is based on EN ISO 105-B02, which is internationally recognized as the most widely used method for testing color fastness to light and represents all methods where the use of blue wool references is specified.
