EN ISO 11296-4, in conjunction with EN ISO 11296-1, specifies requirements and test methods for in situ curing pipes and fittings used for regeneration of unpressurized underground drainage and sewer networks with service temperatures up to 50°C.
EN ISO 11296-4 applies to the use of various thermosetting resin systems in combination with compliant fibrous carrier materials, reinforcement and other process-related plastic components.
Requirements for any family of regeneration techniques are given in EN ISO 11296-1, which is implemented in conjunction with other relevant chapters. For example, both EN ISO 11296-1 and this document together specify requirements for coating with cured-in-place pipes. See EN ISO 11295 for supplementary information. Not all families of techniques are applicable to every application, and this is reflected in the part numbers included in each system standard.
A consistent structure of item titles is adopted for all parts to facilitate direct comparisons between families of renovation techniques.
The perimeter of the cladding pipe should be sized to fit closely to the existing sewer wall when installed or as required by the design. The manufactured length and thickness of the liner pipe must include allowances for any longitudinal and circumferential stress during installation.
Marking shall conform to EN ISO 11296-1, 5.8. It shall be applied to the outside of the coating pipe as delivered to the installation site or the outside of the packaging in the pre-packaged priming pipes.
The only curing-in-place fittings covered by this standard are lateral tie-rings. Such collars can be an integral part of the full lining of a lateral tube. External saddle connections between the in-situ cured main pipes and side pipes can also be made with standard thermoplastic or GRP fittings.
