EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of EN ISO 8611-1 standard. EN ISO 8611-1 specifies existing test methods for evaluating new flat pallets for material handling.
Test methods are grouped for rated load testing, maximum working load testing, and endurance benchmarking.
It is not intended to be applied to pallets with a fixed superstructure or to a rigid, self-supporting container that can be mechanically attached to the pallet and add to the strength of the pallet.
Specific tests to determine load capacity do not replace the value of performing field tests on specific pallet designs.
The forces to which pallets are subjected during use vary considerably. The test procedures described in this standard are approximate simulations of pallet usage. These tests help the pallet designer strike an acceptable initial balance between the cost and performance of a pallet design.
All results of testing using this protocol are intended to be confirmed and validated using field trials prior to performance release or commercial implementation of a new pallet design.
