ISO 13765-1 Refractory Mortars - Test for Determination of Consistency Using the Piercing Cone Method

EUROLAB, with its state-of-the-art accredited laboratories and expert team, provides precise and fast testing services within the scope of ISO 13765-1 testing. This standard describes a method for determining the consistency of refractory mortars using a piercing cone.

ISO 13765-1 Refractory Mortars - Test for Determination of Consistency Using the Piercing Cone Method

Cut test pieces according to the dimensions and tolerances shown from the refractory bricks for the test. The adjacent edges of the test pieces shall be perpendicular to each other and the corners shall be square. The surfaces of the test pieces shall be smooth, free of cracks and the surfaces to be bonded shall be clean. Each ISO 13765-4 test piece will have an uncut face for bonding.

Before the test, put the 110 C ± 5 test pieces in the drying oven, the temperature for 8 hours or until the constant weight is reached
raise and hold . Then naturally cool to room temperature.

For dry mortars, take 1,5 kg with a balance and mix with water according to ISO 13765-1 or ISO 13765-2 to obtain the desired consistency. Determine the consistency and let it rest for 30 minutes or according to the manufacturer's directions.

Refractory components are related to the quality of the bricks with which the composition will be used. In some cases, the mortar can be supplied ready mixed.
