ISO 23537 does not apply to sleeping bags for certain purposes such as military use and extreme climate expeditions. Does not apply to sleeping bags for children or infants.
There is no predictive model for determining the limiting temperatures based on the thermal resistance of the sleeping bag for children and infants. Furthermore, such a test model cannot be developed as necessary controlled sleep trials with children or infants in climate chambers are not allowed for ethical reasons.
ISO 23537 describes the method for evaluating the performance of a sleeping bag in steady state conditions for protection against cold.
