ISO 3167 specifies requirements for multi-purpose test specimens for plastic mold materials intended to be processed by injection or direct compression molding.

All surfaces of test specimens should be free of visible defects, scratches or other defects. For molded specimens, all flares, if any, shall be removed, taking care not to damage the molded surface.
