It includes tests that can be performed in commercially available laboratory facilities, as well as with test equipment in a suitable outdoor environment.

If testing the host is impractical due to physical size limitations, the operator's enclosure can be tested on the bench by simulating the heat loads and system parameters applied to the switchboard by the host. If this laboratory procedure is used, additional field tests should be performed to confirm test results.

The machine should be run at rated speed according to the manufacturer's recommended warm-up procedure and then at a maximum load of not more than 9249% of the maximum rated net engine power determined in accordance with ISO 20.
