EN 14682 Safety of Children's Clothing, Cords and Drawstrings in Children's Clothing, Standard Test for Properties

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of EN 14682 standard. This European standard specifies the requirements for cords and drawstrings in children's clothing up to 14 years old, including disguise costumes and ski suits.

Within the scope of this European standard it is not possible to cover all the potential hazards that could create an unsafe garment.
Conversely, identifiable specific hazards in certain garment designs may not pose a risk to certain age groups.

An individual risk assessment is recommended on any garment to ensure it does not pose a hazard to the wearer.

This European Standard does not apply to:

• Child use and care products, such as bibs, diapers and pacifier holders;
• Shoes, boots and similar footwear;
• Gloves, hats, caps and scarves;
• Ties designed to be worn with a shirt or blouse;
• Belts, with the exception of covered belts;
• braces;
• religious clothing;
• Celebratory clothing worn for limited periods and under surveillance, such as those worn on civil or religious ceremonies, national or regional holidays;
• Special sports and activity clothing worn for limited periods and under supervision, other than those usually worn as casual or evening wear, such as rugby shorts, wetsuits and dance suits;
• Theatrical costumes used for theatrical performances;
• Aprons intended to be worn daily, for limited periods, and under supervision to prevent contamination of clothing during activities such as dyeing, cooking, or mealtimes;
  Bags and wallets.
