JIS A5759 specifies four test elements for optical performance: visible light transmittance, shading coefficient, heat transfer coefficient and ultraviolet transmittance. However, determining the shading coefficient requires solar transmittance, solar reflectance, and normal emissivity, as well as corrected emissivity values converted from normal reflectance for the indoor surface and the exterior surface. In addition, corrected emission values converted from normal emission for internal and external surfaces are needed to calculate the heat transfer coefficient.
