EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services under the SATRA TM92 test standard. This tester is used to determine flex resistance or to show cracks of shoes or soles by flexing movements back and forth under the specified angle and frequency.
The purpose of this method is to evaluate the resistance of the finished shoe to repeated stretching. The method is applicable to most types of shoes. It is not suitable for assessing the elastic cracking resistance of upper or base materials.
The shoe sample is repeatedly stretched by a testing machine at an angle around the natural flex line. After a predetermined time or number of twists, the shoe is subjectively evaluated for signs of damage.
The number of stretches, or the time between evaluations, and the angle at which the shoe flexes are determined by the type of shoe being tested.
