The range of building acoustics measurements ranges from determining the soundproofing properties of building components and systems to measuring noise from sanitary facilities and building service equipment. Our services cover almost all standard measurement methods in the field of building acoustics and sound emission protection. EUROLAB Laboratory has more than 10 test rooms and laboratories for this purpose.
The sound insulation regulation DIN 4109 defines the minimum requirements for sound insulation in building construction. This regulation applies to windows and doors. DIN 4109 defines six sound insulation classes. The sound reduction index, which defines the sound insulation of an installed window or front door, is decisive for classification in a sound insulation class. The respective sound insulation classes are the limits corresponding to a certain traffic volume at a certain distance.
Building acoustics measurements in the laboratory
Within the scope of building acoustics measurements in our laboratories, we offer various services such as air/impact sound insulation from skylights and skylights and rain noise measurement (DIN EN ISO 10140). We also measure the lateral transmission of airborne and impact sound between adjacent rooms (DIN EN ISO 10848), evaluate and test the airborne sound insulation properties of exterior building components at our façade test facility (DIN EN ISO 16283-3). characterizes the acoustic properties of insulating elements for solid stairs (DIN 7396). In addition, by determining the sound absorption coefficients and equivalent sound absorption area in our reverberation room, we make sound power measurements according to the surrounding surface, echo chamber and sound intensity methods.
Acoustic properties of building materials
To evaluate the acoustic properties of building materials, we measure, among others, dynamic stiffness (DIN EN 29052), length-related airflow resistance (DIN EN 29053) and dynamic-mechanical properties (DIN EN ISO 6721). More customized measurements are available on request.
Noise from plumbing and building service equipment
When it comes to noise from sanitary ware and building service equipment, we examine the noise caused by water supply valves (DIN EN ISO 3822), sewer noise (DIN EN 14366) and sound levels of sanitary facilities installed in prototype test facilities. (DIN EN ISO 10052 and others). We also measure level differences between airborne and impact sound (DIN 52210-6), structure-borne noise from building service equipment (DIN EN 15657), and sound levels from service equipment in buildings (DIN EN 12354-5).
Sound emission protection
As part of sound emission control, we inspect noise barriers in the laboratory and on site (DIN EN 1793-1 to -6 and others) and test them for noise emission (according to "TA Lärm") and vibration protection (DIN). 4150).
Acoustic measurements in buildings
We are also experts in measuring acoustics in buildings where we evaluate air and impact sound insulation between rooms (DIN EN ISO 16283-1 and -2), airborne sound insulation of facades (DIN EN ISO 16283-3 et al.). , reverberation times (DIN EN ISO 3382), sound level of installed sanitary facilities and airborne noise levels from building service equipment (DIN EN ISO 10052 / DIN 4109).
As building acoustics measurements usually require component and system tests recognized by building code or conformity and quality tests according to DIN 4109, EUROLAB tests all of the above and many others; in our independent, accredited testing laboratory.
