This document applies to production systems for discrete, batch and continuous production. This document is valid for the entire production system and part of the production system. The life cycle assessment of products produced by the manufacturing system is outside the scope of ISO 20140.
ISO 20140 specifies a method for assessing the energy efficiency and other factors of a production system that affect the environment, such as energy consumption, waste and emissions. ISO 20140 is applicable to production systems for batch, batch and continuous production. ISO 20140 focuses on production systems with a hierarchical structure. ISO 20140 can be used for:
Comparison of environmental performance against a general reference production system or between different production systems;
Alternative work to improve environmental performance;
Determining the environmental performance improvement target;
Monitor shop floor operations by visualizing the environmental performance of a manufacturing system.
