Including 1634 minutes of integrity (and insulation where relevant) according to EN 1-240. This standard applies to the testing of building hardware for use in hinged and revolving doors and openable windows with framed glazed doors and windows, but excluding glass doors. It does not include a test for durability or other performance characteristics of building equipment that must be evaluated against the product standard or as given in EN 14600.

The method is suitable for characterizing building hardware for use in non-metallic door or window assemblies consisting of cellulosic materials or mineral sheets covered with cellulosic, mineral core or cellulosic materials suspended on metal frames: or conventional steel doors made of sheet steel, thicker than 1,5 mm hung on steel frames (steel doors include mineral sheet or mineral fiber filled doors, but not steel-clad wood/cellulosic doors). This method is not directly suitable for evaluating building hardware for use in glass or glazed doors with decorative perimeter frames. The suitability of this test method can be determined by reference to the flow chart provided.

This European Standard does not establish a fire resistance test for a leaf, window, frame, intumescent seal or anything other than the selected item. building equipment. The use of any resulting direct application is limited to sash and frame constructions that have been successfully tested in accordance with EN 1634-1.
