Fire Test Methods

Fire testing methods are an important part of critical aircraft equipment and components installed in engine compartments that may be exposed to fire during operation. Our specialists work diligently to ensure that your product reacts smoothly and safely in the presence of flames.

Fire Test Methods

EUROLAB offers fire testing methods, including fire resistance and fireproof grades. These tests are used to evaluate how equipment installed in a fire zone is affected without exposure to flame. Each fire test method has requirements for a minimum level of fire resistance, but they all require the aircraft component not to cause any other dangerous conditions.

Fireproof Test Method

Fireproof testrequires the equipment to maintain its normal function for about five minutes and its basic safety functions for at least fifteen minutes. Fireproof components containing liquid or air should be inspected for any leaks, as they may spread the flame and possibly cause burning. When the fire resistance test is completed and no leakage occurs, the remaining flame will go out by itself.

Fire Resistance Test Method

During the five-minute fire resistance test, a component should not show dangerous conditions or show any structural deterioration. The absence of leakage in liquid or air-containing parts is equally important in this fire test because burning is possible when some liquids are exposed to a flame. If there is still a flame at the end of the test, it should not pose any other danger and should be easily extinguished.

Fire testing of a component that may be exposed to flame during operation is vital to understanding its performance, and leaving your product in the hands of our globally trusted specialists will help ensure your success in bringing a safe product to market. EUROLAB conducts fireproof and fire resistance test methods according to various industry standards and customized specifications.
