A method for determining the same property at ambient temperature is given in EN 993-6. Note: The method is primarily concerned with fired refractories. If applied to chemically bonded or tar-bonded bricks, the bricks will usually require some form of pre-heat treatment.
EN 993-7 is a standard that specifies a method for determining the modulus of refraction at high temperatures of densely shaped refractory products. The modulus of rupture is a measure of the maximum stress a material can withstand before breaking or breaking.
